The 30-year-old NFL star could play for another decade or more. After all, Tom Brady played into his mid-40s. While it’s unlikely that Allen will do the same – he plays a much more physical style – he should at least hopefully be able to play at an elite level well into his 30s.
But the former Wyoming standout turned NFL star is already thinking about the next step in his career. And it involves broadcasting.
Allen recently told Alex Sherman of CNBC that he would be open to a role in NFL broadcasting at some point.
“I do think it would be cool if you can keep it from a strictly broadcasting angle,” Allen recently told Alex Sherman of CNBC. “When players go from players to journalists and say certain things that they hated people saying about them, I think that’s where it gets a little murky for me.

“But I do think that it would be something I would entertain. I can’t say for sure, ‘yes’ or for sure ‘no’ right now, because I do go back and forth on it. But yeah, I’d have to put some more thought into it.”
NFL broadcasters aren’t really journalists, though
NFL broadcasters are not journalists. They are a part of the media, sure. But they are not doing any reporting or investigative work. They’re simply talking heads.
That’s a different role than an NFL player, sure. But it’s a common transition for many in the football world.
Of course, as a star quarterback, doors could open quickly for Allen, when it comes to the broadcasting world.
