New fast-casual Hawaiian in midtown, serving plate lunches, rice bowls and poke

A new project from the owners of Kupros Craft House has come to fruition after two years in the making, the Sacramento Business Journal reports.

The Golden Pineapple, at 2800 G St. in midtown, a fast-casual concept serving Hawaiian food through a California lens. The restaurant held its grand opening on Tuesday, July 21 in the space formerly occupied by Sunny’s Market.

Inspired by the owner’s upbringing in Hawaii, The Golden Pineapple aims “to bring the fresh, innovative spirit of California and the vibrant, traditional flavors of Hawaii side by side in one special place,” the business’s website says.

The menu features plate lunches such as kalua pig ($15) or chicken katsu ($15) served with macaroni salad and steamed rice, rice bowls ($12-15), ramen ($15-18) and poke ($16-19).

The restaurant also features deli-style sandwiches ($11-15) and salads ($14-16) to reflect the California side of the concept.
