Fire crews were dispatched at 2:21 a.m. to the church on the 5600 block of Hillsdale Boulevard, Sacramento Metro Fire Capt. Mark Nunez said.
Crews arrived to find flames on the exterior of the building that had spread into a classroom, Nunez said.
“Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines and were able to contain the fire to the front portion of the building while simultaneously conducting a primary search to ensure no occupants or victims were inside the structure,” he said.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the front portion of the church. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation by Metro Fire’s investigation team, Nunez said.
“A reminder to our community that fires can double in size every minute,” he said. “If a fire starts, get out immediately, stay out, and call 911 from a safe location. Never go back inside a burning structure.”
