Authorities have identified a Sacramento County woman as the third confirmed death from the July 14 capsizing of the Volare cabin cruiser near Alcatraz Island. One passenger from the family outing remains missing more than two weeks after the boat rolled over in San Francisco Bay.

• Clifford Boisa, 79, a retired Sutter County reserve deputy, was the first confirmed death. He was pulled from the water but died later from his injuries. Boisa served with the Sheriff’s Office from 1987 to 2001.

• Tondra Lynn Madruga, 58, of Folsom was identified as the second person killed. Marine officers found her body using sonar west of Treasure Island two days after the capsizing.

• The 49-foot, Stockton-registered Volare rolled over after it “took a wave” about 3:37 p.m. July 14 near Alcatraz Island, sending all 20 people aboard into San Francisco Bay, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The passengers were close family members and friends from the Sacramento and Stockton areas who had gathered for a family memorial.
