Those additions come on both sides of the ball, with the additions of Demario Davis and Minkah Fitzpatrick on defense, along with Geno Smith at quarterback, moves that should pay dividends and are already making a lasting impact in the Jets’ locker room.
Jets Veteran Presence Already Making an Impact
Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson told reporters Wednesday that the team’s veteran additions have already changed the atmosphere of the locker room.
“They don’t have any past association with the last, maybe blunders we’ve had,” Wilson said. “And because of that, they’re bringing this winning mindset, winning energy that us as the younger guys and looking up to guys like that, we’re trying to just latch onto it and get a better idea of what it takes to win at that level because they’ve done it before.”
Running back Breece Hall echoed those sentiments, saying the organization’s newfound stability has been one of the biggest differences heading into the 2026 season.
“I just feel like in the past we’ve had a lot of craziness and turmoil, a lot of switchover, turnover,” Hall said. “I just feel like now I’m with the guys we’ve brought in, the coaches we have, with the change of the staff and upstairs and through our coaching staff, I feel like there’s a lot more organizational stability, which I feel like helps the players because I feel like the players are only going to be as good as the organization is. You can’t have good players and not have a stable organization and still have a good team.”

Jets Hoping for a Culture Change in 2026
The Jets were one of the worst teams in the NFL last season, finishing with an abysmal 3-14 record.
As a result, the Jets added veteran leadership on the field. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn overhauled a large chunk of his coaching staff in an effort to resurrect a franchise that has struggled in recent years.
The team is looking for a drastic turnaround, hoping its newly added leaders can be the foundation of a team that could compete.
While it’s possible that the Jets can take a significant step forward this season, it’s still too soon to know whether they’ll emerge as legitimate playoff contenders.
Either way, the 2026 season has the potential to be a big bounce-back season for Gang Green.
