A man wearing a ski mask was hospitalized after he was found shot Monday morning in Arden Arcade, Sacramento County sheriff’s officials said.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District personnel responded about 8:30 a.m. to the area of Fulton and Edison avenues, where they found the shooting victim. An initial report that the incident involved a vehicle collision was later determined to be unfounded, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The man appeared to have been walking in the area of Jerry’s Paint & Supply while completely covered and wearing a ski mask, sheriff’s officials said. Authorities did not know why he was there.

The man was taken to a hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
Sheriff’s officials said the man declined to provide information about a possible suspect or otherwise assist investigators.
Deputies and investigators remained at the scene Monday morning as the investigation continued.
