Malik Nabers took another step toward to making his inevitable return to the New York Giants.

Nabers took seven reps of live drills while wearing a red, no-contact jersey – including four at 11-on-11 – for the first time during training camp.
Giants coach John Harbaugh said the defensive players “did a good job respecting” Nabers, who is coming back from a torn ACL and meniscus sustained last September.
Nabers would not commit to playing Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, and the clock is ticking: there are fewer than four weeks until the season opener.
John Harbaugh: Malik Nabers “Looked Good”
The Giants practiced in shells on Monday, following their first preseason game Saturday, which allowed Nabers to participate.
Still, Harbaugh was satisfied with what he saw from the Giants’ star wideout.
“I thought he looked good,” Harbaugh said. “I don’t think he’s full speed yet or anything, but I thought he looked good.”
At one point during seven-on-seven drills, Nabers went to the ground, briefly scaring everyone. He appeared frustrated after the fall but quickly put any injury concerns to rest.
“I wasn’t upset; it’s just that dog in me,” Nabers said. “It’s barking a little bit. He’s coming. That was just a little spark, [and] just letting people know [the dog] is coming.”

Malik Nabers Opens Up About His Mental State
For many Giants fans, their 2025 season died the moment Nabers went down – even though the team went on to beat the Los Angeles Chargers in the game in which he tore his knee.
But Nabers has visited dark places throughout his recovery.
“My soul’s been dead for so long just being away and knowing what I could’ve accomplished, knowing where I was before this happened,” Nabers said. “Every tear, every talk with the family, every down day, every day that I didn’t complete something – it just kept that in the back of my head to continue, even when [rehab] wasn’t going well [and] my leg wasn’t feeling the best.”
Running back Cam Skattebo said he helped Nabers through the dark times, since he was going through his own rehab from a catastrophic leg injury.
“I was able to have him,” Skattebo said. “As I got more and more healthy, and he was still going kind of through the hard stage, I was able to help him get out of that, and we were able to work off each other.”
The question on every Giants fan’s mind is whether Nabers will be able to play against the Cowboys. Nabers ducked that question, which is a little angst-inducing for fans.
“The most important thing is my health,” Nabers said. “The most important thing is just completing every milestone that they have in front of me, giving good effort, continuing to come out here and be a great teammate to my teammates.”
