A popular midtown boba tea shop has closed after six years in business.
Bober Tea on 1801 L St. is now listed as permanently closed, according to Yelp and its storefront and windows are covered.

The L St. location was known for its pink interior, floral decorations and wallpaper, and Instagram designed backdrops, according to its social media.
Bober Tea’s locations operate alongside Mochi Dough which sells mochi doughnuts and has other combined locations in the area.
The business opened in midtown in October 2020 and served loose-leaf teas, okumidori matcha from Japan, brown sugar boba milk teas and chizu fruit teas.

Bober Tea USA did not respond to a request for comment from The Sacramento Bee.
Bober Tea is a chain of boba shops popular in Northern California. Its five combo locations in the Sacramento region are:
- 6900 65th St. in south Sacramento
- 2791 E Bidwell St. in Folsom
- 8848 Calvine Rd. in Elk Grove
- 2738 Sunrise Blvd. in Rancho Cordova
- 1164 Galleria Blvd. in Roseville
Founded in 2017, Bober Tea first started in Asia with locations in Singapore, China, and the Philippines. The franchise expanded to the United States in 2020, according to its website.
