The Indiana Fever’s WNBA Title Odds Are ‘Out Of Whack’

The Indiana Fever look like legitimate WNBA Finals frontrunners at the moment.

The Fever improved to 23-12 on the year with a big road win against the Atlanta Dream on Sunday. The Dream had a chance to win it in regulation, but Angel Reese couldn’t convert an easy lay-up attempt. The Fever then pulled away in overtime, getting 11 games over the .500 mark.

But while Indiana has been playing extremely good basketball as of late, with one of the best offenses the WNBA has ever seen, their Finals odds are “out of whack,” according to Bill Simmons.

The Ringer founder sounded off on Indiana’s WNBA Finals odds on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday morning.

The Fever are a distant third in the WNBA Finals odds right now, trailing Minnesota and Las Vegas. However, Simmons believes their odds should be much better.

“WNBA Title odds seem out of whack to me,” he shared on X.

Indiana is currently +900, which is good for third. However, Simmons believes they should be closer to +400 or +500.

“Indy is clearly the best East bet. Best WNBA offense ever / 2 elite guards creating quality shots constantly. 9-1 seems way too high to me. Expected like +450,” he shared on X.

WNBA fans react to Indiana’s Finals odds

“They’re bad late in games and they turn the ball over too much. Next year is their year,” one fan noted.

“I mean they are the favorites in the east but Vegas and Minny are clearly better,” one fan added.

“Indy at +900 is basically the Vegas equivalent of betting on the guy who just won the eating contest to also run the marathon in record time. They’ve got the talent, but betting against historical defensive variance is a sucker’s game,” another fan added.
