Customers at Walmart and Sam’s Clubs stores will have another checkout option that began rolling out this week, the company said.

The stores are adding tap to pay to checkouts at select locations with the full rollout coming by the end of the year, the company said in a news release.
Tap to pay, which launched Tuesday, Aug. 25, will be available at all company fuel stations by mid-2027.
“Tap to Pay gives customers and members another familiar and convenient way to pay at checkout using contactless payment methods,” the company said.

“Whether picking up groceries, gifts or everyday essentials, they can check out using eligible contactless card, phone, or smartwatch,” officials said in the release.
Customers also will be able to add eligible Walmart, Sam’s Club and OnePay cards to their digital wallets.
Tap to pay will join cash, credit or Walmart pay as checkout options, the company said.
