The Cleveland Browns completed practice on Thursday in very similar shape to how they ended up the session on Wednesday. In fact, there were very few changes, and linebacker Carson Schwesinger was able to practice in full for a second consecutive day. He was listed on the practice report having a shoulder injury, but that hasn’t seemed to bother him this week.

However, offensive guard Teven Jenkins suffered a back injury in practice on Wednesday, limiting his participation. On Thursday, he was unable to take part in the session, casting serious doubt upon his availability for the regular-season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
If Teven Jenkins Cannot Play, Rookie Austin Barber Might Start
Browns offensive guard Teven Jenkins was re-signed in the offseason, making him one of a few holdovers from last season’s offensive line. He is expected to serve as the starting right guard this season, and the fact that he was downgraded from limited participant to DNP on Thursday has him trending in the completely wrong direction ahead of Sunday’s opener in Jacksonville.
Jenkins still has Friday’s practice, when the official injury designations are revealed, to show he can be capable to play Sunday. If not, rookie offensive lineman Austin Barber might be forced to step into the starting lineup in his first-ever NFL game.

Barber was selected in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft with the No. 86 pick overall out of the University of Florida. Heading into the draft, he was ranked No. 11 in the offensive tackles prospects list by Athlon Sports NFL Draft Analyst Luke Easterling.

Another Rookie Offensive Lineman Remains Limited
Browns center Parker Brailsford was listed as a limited participant for the second consecutive day. He is projected to be a backup, but with Teven Jenkins sidelined, he could also be just one injury away from a much more prominent role.
Defensive tackle Maliek Collins was also listed as a limited participant for the second consecutive day, as he works through a quadriceps injury. It’s rather speculative, but there has been no reason to believe, as if he remains an ‘LP’ on Friday, that Collins won’t be able to suit up in Duval.
Barring any setbacks Friday, it is likely that only Jenkins carries a questionable tag into the Week 1 game, although it wouldn’t be surprising to see Brailsford also listed.
