WWE SmackDown heads south of the border tonight for one of the biggest episodes of the blue brand this year.

For the first time in 15 years, SmackDown will air live from Mexico City, with WWE taking over Arena CDMX for a loaded weekend that also includes TripleMania 34 Night 2 on Sunday and Monday Night Raw. Four championships will be defended tonight, including CM Punk putting the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Sami Zayn.
CM Punk Defends WWE Championship Against Sami Zayn
Zayn has spent weeks trying to force his way back into the championship picture, and tonight he finally gets what he wants.
After Zayn interfered in Punk’s successful title defense against Johnny Gargano last week, Punk had seen enough and challenged him to a championship match in Mexico City. Zayn has not wrestled in more than a month, but he now has an opportunity to regain the title Punk took from him earlier this summer.
Chelsea Green will also defend the Interim WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax. Green has been medically cleared while continuing to wear a protective facemask after suffering an orbital injury. The rivalry escalated last week when Lash Legend helped Jax defeat Tiffany Stratton before Jax ripped Green’s mask from her face.
AAA gold will be featured prominently in Mexico City. Rey Fenix defends the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against Ricky Saints, while AAA World Tag Team Champions The War Raiders face Damian Priest and R-Truth.

Paige and Nikki Bella will also finally meet one-on-one following weeks of attacks and increasingly personal exchanges between the former friends.
Cody Rhodes is advertised to appear as well, with WWE teasing what’s next for The American Nightmare following his loss to Randy Orton at Sunday Night’s Main Event.
