NFL Fans Fooled By Fake Nick Bosa Quote After 49ers’ Win Over Rams

San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa was trending on social media following Thursday night’s win over the Los Angeles Rams.

There were some concerns about Bosa’s availability for Week 1 since he missed time in training camp to recover from a torn ACL. Not only did he suit up for the season opener, he had four total tackles, two tackles for loss and a QB hit in San Francisco’s 27-7 win over Los Angeles.

Before the 49ers took the field for their opener, a social media account by the name of “NFL Drop” shared this fake quote from Bosa: “Today it means more, I’m winning this for him.”

This post was suggesting that Bosa was going to play inspired football since Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University a year ago to date.

Bosa never made that comment, and yet, this social media post racked up over 290,000 views in under 24 hours.

This has been an alarming trend in the NFL.

During the 2025 season, 49ers star George Kittle was linked to a fake quote involving Kirk’s influence. He made sure to shoot down any speculation with a statement of his own.

“Couple of things.. this is a fake quote,” Kittle wrote, via SFGATE. “I hope most of you realize that. Also, that above account only posts fake news/reports, please ignore them. The wild messages I’m receiving from people made me have to address it. Have a good night.”

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud experienced a similar situation during the 2025 season.

While we’d like to say this trend will come to an end soon, parody accounts clearly get a kick out of causing an uproar.
