Stephanie Vaquer Title Win Matches Rare WWE Feat Unseen in 19 Years

Stephanie Vaquer regained the Women’s World Championship from Liv Morgan at a WWE live event in Santiago, Chile, on Saturday night. In doing so, “La Primera” became part of an extremely rare piece of WWE history, as the title change marked only the fifth time a WWE or World Championship has changed hands at a live event.

The milestone had not been reached since 2007, when Melina and Mickie James traded the Women’s Championship at separate house shows. Before those two title changes, Bret Hart defeated Ric Flair for the WWE Championship at a 1992 live event, while Diesel defeated Bob Backlund for the WWE Championship in 1994.

Stephanie Vaquer’s victory now joins those four world title changes in the record books. The moment was even more significant because it happened in her home country, with the Chilean star celebrating in front of the hometown crowd at Movistar Arena.

“La Primera” entered the South America Live Tour event looking to reclaim the championship she lost to Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 42. The two had already met again on the September 7 episode of RAW, but Morgan retained after interference from The Judgment Day helped swing the match in her favor.

WWE later announced another championship opportunity for Vaquer in Santiago, with Becky Lynch serving as the special guest referee. The match ended with Vaquer hitting Morgan with the Sky Twister Press before “The Man” counted the three-count and raised the new champion’s hand.

The win gives Vaquer her second reign as Women’s World Champion. She originally captured the vacant championship by defeating IYO SKY at Wrestlepalooza in September 2025, holding the title for 210 days before Morgan defeated her at WrestleMania 42.

Vaquer’s latest championship victory also gives WWE another memorable moment from its return to Chile. The company had not held an event in the country for seven years before bringing its South America tour to Santiago this weekend.

For Vaquer, winning the title again was already a significant achievement. Doing it on a night that produced one of WWE’s rarest championship changes made her homecoming even more memorable.
