An eventful Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season concludes Monday night with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Denver Broncos on “Monday Night Football” (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN). The Broncos went 14-3 and won the AFC West last season, ending the Chiefs’ streak of nine straight division crowns.
The focus is on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes returning from an ACL tear, but Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is making a triumphant return as well. The ankle injury that Nix suffered at the end of Denver’s divisional playoff win over the Buffalo Bills might have cost the Broncos a trip to the Super Bowl.
