Ancil Hoffman Park in Carmichael is closed after vandals caused extensive damage throughout the regional park, according to Sacramento County officials.

The Regional Parks Department said on social media that at least 10 light poles and several street signs were knocked over. At least one restroom was also heavily damaged, with sinks and barriers ripped from the walls.
The Ancil Hoffman Golf Course and Effie Yeaw Nature Center were initially closed while crews assessed the damage and checked for live electrical wires that could pose a safety hazard.

The golf course and nature center later reopened, but the park remained closed.
Officials did not immediately provide additional details about when the park would fully reopen.
