Folsom firefighters responded to a fire early Saturday morning that damaged a residence at a mobile home park.

Firefighters were deployed shortly after 8:30 a.m. to a double-wide mobile home at 641 Parkstone Way, according to Folsom Fire Department spokesperson Nick Lawlor. Metro Fire and the Folsom Police Department also responded.
Fire officials said the blaze likely started in the backyard and moved to the residence, which damaged 40% of the home. An exterior electrical hazard is the likely cause, but Lawlor said an arson investigation is underway.

“The first two arriving engine companies initiated an aggressive fire attack that protected neighboring homes and prevented a complete loss of the primary structure,” Lawlor said.
The home was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.
One of the responding engines was recently brought back into service after being inactive for 10 months. Its inactive status was to help combat the city’s $3 million budget deficit in September 2025.
