Ole Miss fans around the country held their breath this Saturday when Trinidad Chambliss went down with an injury.

Chambliss, the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, suffered a tough hit to the ribs as he was scrambling on third down against Florida. This injury occurred with just around six minutes left in the first quarter.
College football fans were understandably worried for Chambliss once they saw him laying on the turf for an extended period of time. The dual-threat quarterback has been excellent this season, completing 70% of his passes for 924 yards and seven touchdowns.
“Chambliss please get up,” one fan said.
“Really hope Chambliss is okay after that collision,” a second fan wrote on X.
“CHAMBLISS HURT NOOOOOOOO,” another fan commented.
Although the Rebels haven’ revealed the severity of Chambliss’ injury, it looks like he’ll try to play through the pain. We’re not sure how many hits he can sustain though since he’s compromised.

Who would fill in if Chambliss misses time?
In the event this is an extended absence for Chambliss, the Rebels will have to start former five-star recruit Deuce Knight at quarterback.
Knight transferred to Ole Miss after spending the 2025 season with Auburn. He had a breakout game last November against Mercer, racking up 239 passing yards, 162 rushing yards and six total touchdowns.
Hopefully, Chambliss’ injury isn’t that serious and he’ll be just fine for the rest of the season.
