Dana White reiterated his involvement in the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua superfight during a media scrum following Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10, Week 8 on Tuesday night. Beyond the MMA fights, the press asked White about the heavyweight boxing clash scheduled for December 11 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
“There’s no confusion whatsoever,” White told reporters. “It’s happening. It’s done. It’s a done deal. Everything that I’ve been saying is the truth.”
White’s comments came after weeks of public back-and-forth between himself and Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn over whether White would be permitted to promote the fight.
Dana White Blames ‘Ego’ For Delays
White has maintained that his role in the event is secured despite Hearn’s insistence that Joshua’s contract prohibits TKO and White from involvement.
According to an official press release, Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring and Dana White will co-promote the event, with Hearn’s Matchroom and Fury’s Queensberry Promotions notably absent from the promotional listing.
White attributed the prolonged negotiation drama surrounding the fight to ego rather than any logistical barrier.
“This isn’t a hesitation, this is an ego thing,” White said. “Total ego thing. It has nothing to do with any of this sh—.”
The UFC CEO suggested that the complaints were primarily from the aforementioned U.K. promoters.
“Boxing has taken a hit in the United States. It’s not as big as it was 20 years ago. It has become a very British sport,” he lamented. “All the sh— that you’re hearing, the crying, and the b—ing, and whatever the f—, is coming from the U.K.”
White’s Ongoing Feud With Hearn
The contract dispute escalated earlier in September when Hearn threatened legal action against TKO Group after they allegedly attempted to lure Joshua into a deal behind his back (h/t DAZN Boxing).

Despite the ongoing friction, White insisted he was enjoying the promotional battle.
He told reporters that the situation was “right up my alley” and that he was having fun with the back-and-forth.
The two have had a longstanding feud, even threatening to fight each other in the boxing ring.
White’s Press Conference Absence
White confirmed he would not attend the opening press conference in London on Wednesday, citing his commitment to the Contender Series event in Las Vegas.
“No, because I was here,” White said when asked about his absence. “I would have been there if I didn’t have the [Contender Series].”
The fight between Fury and Joshua is scheduled for December 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, and the event will stream on Netflix to a global audience.
Fury and Joshua have been on a collision course for over a decade, with negotiations repeatedly collapsing. Both fighters have signed agreements for the bout, and both have won their tune-up fights earlier this year.
White’s exact promotional capacity remains a mystery, but the UFC CEO has consistently maintained that his involvement is finalized.
Over the weekend, White told Sky Sports Boxing that he would be involved in the fight regardless of Hearn’s objections.
“I’m sitting here promoting the fight right now,” White said. “Who’s going to stop me?”
