But unfortunately for Philly, one of their top players is dealing with a concussion leading into the game.
Zack Baun Has Concussion Ahead of Game Against Rams
The Eagles released their first injury report of the week on Wednesday, and it included the information that star linebacker Zack Baun missed the first practice of the week with a concussion, leaving his status for the game against L.A. in question.
Baun will have to clear the NFL’s concussion protocol before he’ll be permitted to take the field again for Philadelphia, and it remains to be seen how long that will take. The league mandates a five-step return to play policy, so Baun will have to clear all five steps before getting the thumbs up from the league. The team will continue to provide updates on his status leading up to Sunday.
On the season, Baun is Philadelphia’s leader in tackles for a loss and he’s second on the team in total tackles. His play has been one of the lone bright spots for the Eagles’ defense early in the season, so his absence would be a big one.

Other Eagles on Injury Report
Baun wasn’t the only Eagles player who missed the first practice of the week. Wide receivers Hollywood Brown (ankle) and DeVonta Smith (hamstring) both didn’t practice. Tight end Dallas Goedert (knee), running back Will Shipley (foot) and tackle Fred Johnson (knee) were all also on the sideline. Like Baun’s, all of their statuses will be something to monitor as the week moves forward.
Goedert is still expected to miss a couple more weeks, so we shouldn’t expect to see him out on the field against L.A. The rest of the guys should all have a chance to play, though Brown missed Week 2 with the ankle injury, so the severity of that issue remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Smith missed the first practice last week with a hamstring issue but was ultimately able to play in the game, so hopefully he’ll follow the same pattern this week. We should get more clarity on all of these guys on Thursday’s injury report.
