“The list serves as a helpful resource for individuals and families researching nursing home options and identifying facilities that demonstrate strong performance within their size category,” Newsweek said.
The list contains 1,325 of the nation’s top nursing homes out of 14,693 analyzed, Newsweek said.
The publication ranked nursing homes for performance data, peer recommendations, accreditations and satisfaction.

Newsweek ranked nursing homes by state and by size for 50-99 certified beds, 100-149 certified beds and more than 150 certified beds.

- University Post-Acute Rehab at 2120 Stockton Blvd. in Sacramento ranked No. 11 on the list of small nursing homes in California.
- Roseville Care Center at 1161 Cirby Way ranked No. 10 on the list of large nursing homes in the state.
- Bruceville Terrace at 8151 Bruceville Road in Sacramento ranked No. 22 on the list of large nursing homes in California.
- Citrus Heights Post-Acute at 7807 Uplands Way ranked 24th on the list of large nursing homes in the state.
- Westview Health Care Center at 12225 Shale Ridge Road in Auburn ranked No. 29 on the list of large nursing homes in California.
