Vikings Inactives: Who’s In, Who’s Out for Week 4 vs. Dolphins

The Minnesota Vikings are 3-0 winning all the eight games dating back to last season. The Miami Dolphins, meanwhile, are 0-3 and still searching for their first win of 2026. The two teams meet today at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, with kickoff set for 4:05 p.m. ET.

The records tell only part of the story. Minnesota has leaned on one of the league’s strongest defenses while its offense continues to find its rhythm. Miami is averaging only 12.0 points per game and has already lost running back De’Von Achane for the season. That gives the Vikings a clear advantage, especially at home.

Star receiver Justin Jefferson is out with an ankle injury, while punter Brett Thorson and cornerback Charles Demmings are also unavailable. Jefferson’s absence puts more pressure on Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson, but the Vikings’ defense and special teams give them a strong foundation against a struggling Miami offense.

Here is the full list of inactives for both teams.

Vikings Week 4 Inactives

  • Justin Jefferson WR
  • Brett Thorson P
  • Charles Demmings CB

Dolphins Week 4 Inactives

  • Caleb Douglas WR

Vikings’ Strengths and Weaknesses Against the Dolphins

The Vikings have a major advantage on defense. Through three games, Miami has scored just 12 points per game. Whereas, Minnesota’s pass rush, led by a Brian Flores scheme, can put pressure on Malik Willis and force Miami into obvious passing situations. Dallas Turner has already been a major part of that pressure.

Jefferson being inactive changes the equation. Minnesota is already averaging only 238.3 yards per game, which ranks last in the NFL. Without its best receiver, the Vikings cannot afford another slow offensive afternoon. Addison becomes even more important, while Hockenson can give Kyler Murray a reliable option over the middle.

The Vikings have won close games and have a defense capable of keeping opponents in check. Miami, meanwhile, has lost each of its first three games by at least 14 points, according to the Vikings’ expert-picks roundup.
