The Tennessee Titans fell to 0-4 with a 24-18 loss in Baltimore on Sunday, and the moment that drew the most attention afterward happened at the podium. The team’s own livestream was already rolling when quarterback Cam Ward stepped up for his postgame press conference, and reporters had not yet made it into the room.

Ward, looking off to his left at someone out of the frame, could be heard giving it “three minutes” before he would “walk out.” Nashville radio host Jared Stillman posted the 20-second clip, and it spread quickly Sunday night. Accounts of his exact wording differ from outlet to outlet, but the message is the same in each of them.
Cam Ward stayed and took questions
He did not leave. Ward went through his session once reporters arrived, and his answers were about the mistakes that put Tennessee behind. “We have to limit the bad plays on both sides of the ball, not just offense,” he said, according to the team’s website.
The first of those plays came on the opening possession. Ward’s flip pass went off Tony Pollard’s hands and was intercepted, and Derrick Henry turned it into a Baltimore touchdown. “I know he wants that play back. I want it back,” Ward said of the turnover. Tennessee trailed 24-7 at halftime, and a later trip inside the Baltimore 10 ended with four straight Pollard runs and no points. Ward also told reporters he was more patient in the pocket. “That’s just me trusting the o-line, continuously feeling the pocket,” he said.

Ward finished 20 of 31 for 222 yards with a touchdown pass and the one interception. Rookie Carnell Tate caught nine of those passes for 145 yards, and Tennessee got within one score late on Ward’s 3-yard touchdown pass to Wan’Dale Robinson and a two-point conversion.
The podium clip lands on a quarterback who was already under scrutiny. Ward is 3-18 as a starter, and PFF has him at a 57.5 overall grade through 99 dropbacks, which ranks 26th among 34 quarterbacks. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio wrote last week that Ward “needs to start showing it real soon,” and Ward himself spoke days ago about how his family handles criticism from “so-called fans.”
Head coach Robert Saleh called the day “frustrating overall as a whole” and said he appreciated that his players fought. The Titans host the Houston Texans at 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 11, and Ward will be back in front of reporters well before then.
