Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has made more headlines in gossip columns than sports columns over the past couple of seasons. His marriage to music superstar Taylor Swift has garnered more attention than his on-field production. Last season, he had 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns. Statistically, it was his worst season since his second year in the league in 2015.

Through four weeks, he’s the second-highest-rated tight end by Pro Football Focus at 82.0 with a minimum of 75 snaps. The only one ranked ahead of him is Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers. Kelce has 16 catches for 246 yards (second) and two touchdowns. His 15.4 yards per reception would be a career high. His PFF receiving grade of 84.3 ranks third among 33 qualified tight ends.

Kelce just turned 37 this week and has looked to have better separation on his routes and altogether looks in better shape. He has generated 168 yards after the catch thus far. He has the top passer rating when targeted at 146.1 and has just one drop.
The Chiefs have a bye in Week 4 and will welcome the Los Angeles Chargers to town Oct. 18 in Week 5.
