There are 12 fights set to take place, and here are our picks for all of them.
UFC Vegas 122 Main Card Preview & Picks
Middleweight bout: Brendan Allen vs. Christian Leroy Duncan
The main event of UFC Vegas 122 is a good one between two of the sport’s top middleweights, Allen and Duncan.
Allen has won three straight fights, while Duncan has won five in a row, so the winner of this bout won’t be far away from getting a title shot in the UFC middleweight division.
While Duncan certainly has a puncher’s chance, I think Allen can use his wrestling to drag this fight into deep waters and win a decision.
Pick: Brendan Allen via decision

Lightweight bout: Matheus Camilo vs. Jai Herbert
Camilo has been looking good as of late since he fumbled the bag in his UFC debut, having won his last two fights by stoppage. Herbert, too, is coming off a great KO win over Mandel Nallo, but he’s chinny and is super inconsistent.
Go with Camilo to touch Herbert’s chin and knock him out in the first round.
Pick: Matheus Camilo via TKO
Women’s strawweight: Loopy Godinez vs. Ketlen Souza
Godinez has been inconsistent in her UFC career with a 9-6 record, but she has all the skills to be one of the best fighters in her weight class, and she should be able to edge out a decision here over an equally inconsistent Souza, especially if Godinez uses her wrestling.
Pick: Loopy Godinez via decision
Featherweight bout: Andre Fili vs. Kai Kamaka III
This is my pick for Fight of the Night, as Fili and Kamaka are two veterans who prefer to stand and trade, which should make for an exciting fight.
Ultimately, I have to go with Fili, who is the more experienced and well-rounded fighter, and who I see winning a decision.
Pick: Andre Fili via decision
Bantamweight bout: Malcolm Wellmaker vs. Otari Tanzilovi
Wellmaker came out of the gate swinging with two straight KO wins to open his UFC career, but he lost his last two fights, prompting a big career change: moving camps to American Top Team, the best camp in MMA.
This should be a nice bounceback spot for Wellmaker against a decent fighter in Tanzilovi, who will gladly oblige Wellmaker with a stand-up fight, which plays right into his hands.
Pick: Malcolm Wellmaker via TKO
UFC Vegas 122 Preliminary Card Preview & Picks
Light heavyweight bout: Julius Walker vs. Gerald Meerschaert
Walker has been inconsistent in the UFC with a 1-3 record, but he is 11 years younger than Meerschaert, who is on a five-fight losing skid right now and desperately trying to save his job in the UFC.

While I won’t completely discount the possibility of Meerschaert winning, I have to go with Walker to win this fight by TKO.
Pick: Julius Walker via TKO
Lightweight bout: Francisco Prado vs. Ismael Bonfim
Prado has lost four straight fights, but he’s at least durable and won’t quit in his fights like Bonfim, who often gasses and then looks for the door out if things are not going his way.
Look for Bonfim to once again fatigue after a strong start and Prado to take over and win by TKO in the second round over a gassed opponent.
Pick: Francisco Prado via TKO
Welterweight bout: Niko Price vs. Leon Shahbazyan
Price has already confirmed this will be his retirement fight from the UFC, and even though he has lost four straight fights and is an autofade, Shahbazyan is a very chinny fighter who can get knocked out here.
I think the UFC is throwing Price a bone and giving him a winnable fight for his retirement bout. Take Price to win by knockout.
Pick: Niko Price via TKO
Light heavyweight bout: Felipe Franco vs. Brendson Ribeiro
Franco is coming off an awesome knockout win in his UFC light heavyweight debut, while Ribeiro has lost four straight fights and has been knocked out three times in the UFC.
Go with Franco to win this fight by first-round knockout.
Pick: Felipe Franco via TKO
Heavyweight bout: Allen Frye Jr. vs. RJ Harris
Frye looked awful in his UFC debut, whereas Harris had an amazing KO win and looks like a rare heavyweight prospect to keep your eyes on.
This is my most confident pick on the entire card: take Harris to win by first-round KO.
Pick: RJ Harris via TKO
Women’s bantamweight bout: Alice Pereira vs. Daria Zhelezniakova
Pereira is just 20 years old, making her the youngest fighter in the UFC, which means she can make rapid improvements. On the other hand, Zhelezniakova is more of a finished product, and she’s just an average fighter.
Take Pereira to win this fight, and don’t be surprised if she wins by knockout.
Pick: Alice Pereira via TKO
Women’s flyweight bout: Ernesta Kareckaite vs. Melissa Gatto
Kareckaite has good takedown defense and is the far more technical striker. I see her sprawling and brawling her way to a decision win here, and I think she is one of the best underdog bets on the entire card.

Pick: Enresta Kareckaite via decision
