In the biggest move, the Jets activated veteran WR Tim Patrick off injured reserve. He signed with the team back in March, but has been sidelined since then with a groin injury. Patrick suffered the injury during the first week of practices during the preseason.

Patrick, a 6-5, 210-pound receiver, played with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. He appeared in 16 games (3 starts) and had 15 receptions for 187 yards (12.5 per) and 3 TDs.

In 2024 with the Detroit Lions, Patrick played 16 games (9 starts) totaling 33 receptions, 394 yards (11.9 per) and 3 TDs.

The Jets have been hurting at wide receiver. No. 2 target Adonai Mitchell has been out with a finger injury and will miss his third consecutive game. Wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. is on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain sustained in the opening game against the Tennessee Titans.

Patrick was projected as a No. 4 receiver on the depth chart, but will likely see more than a few snaps against the Browns.

In another move, the Jets elevated LB Jaden Keller from the practice squad for the second consecutive game.

Keller, a 6-3, 235-pound linebacker, played 14 snaps on special teams against the Chicago Bears last week. During preseason he had 10 tackles and a pass defense.

A Virginia Tech product, Keller was added to the practice squad during the last cuts of the preseason, then released Sept. 15 and brought back a week later.

The Jets waived wide receiver Jamaal Pritchett to make roster space.

Pritchett, a 5-8, 175-pounder, was signed to the active roster in Week 3 and played three snaps on special teams. He originally signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in May 2025 and spent last season on the practice squad.

The Jets will also have cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. available for the game. Brownlee was in the NFL’s concussion protocol, but has been cleared, the team announced.

Less certain is the status os edge rusher Will McDonald IV. McDonald has been bothered by an ankle injury and apparently aggravated it in Friday’s practice. His status will be a game-time decision, but his absence will put additional pressure on rookie David Bailey and edge Joseph Ossai. Edge Kingsley Enagbare has been out with a knee injury and is unlikely to play against the Browns.
