Lumen Field got the NFC West game it wanted on Sunday and a result it didn’t. The Seattle Seahawks lost 32-29 to the San Francisco 49ers, and the line between who helped and who hurt was easy to draw. Nehemiah Pritchett set up two touchdowns by himself. Sam Darnold threw two interceptions on a day Seattle turned the ball over four times.

The loss drops Seattle to 3-2 and two games behind the 49ers in the division, with a Thursday night trip to Denver up next.
Winners in the Seahawks’ loss to the 49ers
Nehemiah Pritchett, CB
His hit on returner Jacob Cowing caused a muffed punt that Eric Saubert recovered at the San Francisco 24, and Emanuel Wilson scored six plays later. In the third quarter, Pritchett stepped in front of a Brock Purdy pass and ran it back 20 yards to the 23. Seattle scored three plays later. Pritchett came in with a 78.8 defensive grade through four games, third best on the unit according to PFF, and his two plays on Sunday were worth 14 points.
Byron Murphy II, DT
Purdy had not been sacked all season until Murphy got him twice in the first half. The defensive tackle finished with six tackles and three tackles for loss, by the team’s count.
Jason Myers, K
Myers made all five of his field goals, each from 40 yards or longer: 49, 50, 43, 48 and 40. He scored 17 of Seattle’s 29 points, and the last kick tied the game at 29 with 6:55 left. Seattle needed every one of them because its offense kept stalling short of the end zone.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR
Five catches for 102 yards, a 16-yard touchdown that put Seattle ahead 23-21 and a 35-yard grab that moved the final drive to midfield. He also couldn’t bring in a deep third-down throw with a minute left, and that play will get replayed all week. Still, Darnold threw for 195 yards and Smith-Njigba had more than half of them.

Losers in the Seahawks’ loss to the 49ers
Sam Darnold, QB
Darnold was 18 of 29 for 195 yards with one touchdown pass, two interceptions and five sacks. Renardo Green caught both picks. The first came on Darnold’s first throw of the game for the second straight week, and San Francisco needed four plays to turn it into a 7-0 lead. He has thrown five interceptions in three games since returning from injury in Week 3.
George Holani, RB
Seattle had the ball at its own 4 with 18 seconds left in the half, down 14-13. Holani took a handoff, 49ers lineman Gracen Halton drove center Jalen Sundell into the backfield, stripped the ball and recovered it in the end zone. Holani had already lost his grip after a catch earlier in the quarter and fell on that one himself. Add Wilson’s fumble at the Seattle 9, and a thin running back room handed over 14 points before halftime.
Josh Jobe, CB
Mike Evans caught seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, and most of it came against Jobe, as the Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta wrote. Evans had four catches for 75 yards on the 12-play, 74-yard drive that put San Francisco ahead in the fourth quarter. Jobe was flagged for interference on the two-point try, and Evans caught the retry. Jobe did recover Deebo Samuel’s fumble in the third quarter.
Seattle has four days to fix it. The Broncos, also 3-2, host the Seahawks at 8:15 p.m. ET Thursday.
