It’s not an exaggeration to say this season has been a disaster for the Chargers. At 0-5, their chances of making the playoffs are incredibly slim. It also doesn’t help that Justin Herbert has been uncharacteristically bad, completing 59.4% of his passes for 937 yards with five touchdowns and seven interceptions.

To make matters worse, the Chargers lost backup quarterback Trey Lance to a groin injury.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Chargers are signing Jake Browning to their roster. It’s unclear if he’ll be the clear-cut No. 2 option on the depth chart.

Are changes coming for the Chargers?

While it’s possible the Chargers make massive changes to their coaching staff and roster in the offseason, Herbert isn’t going anywhere. At least that”s what ESPN’s Adam Schefter was told.

“The person cut me off mid-sentence, stopped me in my tracks and said, ‘Let me be very clear about this: we have never even discussed that idea. Should we trade Justin Herbert has never been uttered in our organization, nor will it be.’ This is what the person said. … I didn’t even hear a ‘we will listen.’ They won’t discuss it, they won’t think about it,” Schefter said.
