The deadline to file claims closed in 2024. Now payouts are finally making their way to claimants.

Here’s who is eligible to receive money, and how much you could get:

What is the class action lawsuit against Cash App?

Plaintiffs filed a lawsuit in 2022 against Block Inc. and Cash App Investing alleging that the financial tech companies “were negligent, made misrepresentations and breached other obligations to their users” in connection to data security incidents, according to the official settlement website.

The suit alleged that a former employee accessed account data without permission in 2022, while an unauthorized user accessed Cash App accounts in 2023 using recycled phone numbers linked to the accounts.

This resulted in “unauthorized and fraudulent withdrawals and transfers of funds” to Cash App accounts and linked accounts, the suit alleged.

“Block and Cash App Investing contest these claims and deny that they did anything wrong,” the settlement website said.
