The coordinated day of action comes a little more than a year after nationwide protests on June 14, when more than five million people nationwide participated, including an estimated 5,000 demonstrators at the California state Capitol. Since organizers have held additional demonstrations protesting a federal government shutdown, mass deportations and attacks on healthcare and environmental protections.
