The J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 ‘Rio’ (FN0344-001) released on May 22, 2024, for $250 through Nike SNKRS and select retailers, with early access a day earlier through Balvin’s Familia sign-up. Today, resale platforms such as StockX and GOAT are the main places to find a pair.

Why Does the Air Jordan 3 ‘J Balvin Rio’ Stand Out?
The ‘Rio’ is named for Balvin’s son, Rio, born in June 2021, and the design is meant to reflect the light his son brings him. It followed the 2023 Air Jordan 3 ‘Medellín Sunset,’ which took its colors from sunsets in Balvin’s hometown. His Jordan Brand catalog also includes the Air Jordan 4 ‘Lemonade’.
The black leather base carries grey elephant print on the toe and heel, with a gradient midsole running through the Solar Flare and Total Crimson tones. Translucent heel tabs carry Balvin’s logo, and his smiley-face branding shows up across the co-branded details. Even the box mixes Spanish and English text.
