Running back Kenneth Walker powered the offense. Walker rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns, including a 33-yard score that gave Kansas City an early advantage. His ability to break tackles and create explosive runs helped the Chiefs control possession and take pressure off Patrick Mahomes.

The Chargers were left searching for answers, managing just six points and 259 total yards. Justin Herbert couldn’t find the end zone against a defense that generated four sacks and consistently disrupted the passing game. The loss left the Chargers winless in six games, while Kansas City kept building momentum.

Both Bolton and Conner played all 68 defensive snaps, underscoring their importance to the unit. Delane was on the field for 65 snaps, while Tranquill logged 62. Kansas City’s ability to keep its core defenders on the field helped limit the Chargers’ opportunities and maintain pressure throughout the game.

The team’s pass rush received a boost from its younger players. Karlaftis played 55 snaps, while Gillotte appeared on 36 and recorded a sack. The Chiefs also got disruptive work from rookie R. Mason Thomas, who generated five pressures. Those contributions helped Kansas City record four sacks and keep Herbert out of the end zone. The defense’s performance gives the Chiefs a strong foundation as they move into the next stretch of their schedule.
