Missing at-risk Yuba City man found, arrested on suspicion of causing bodily harm

Sutter County officials arrested a 23-year-old male, previously reported to be an at-risk missing person, on a warrant for causing serious bodily injury on Sunday night.

The 23-year-old Sutter County resident got into an altercation at his place of work, McDonald’s, in Yuba City around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, a spokesperson for the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office said. He allegedly left the scene and was reported missing by his family Sunday morning. Yuba City police requested a warrant for the 23-year-old’s arrest for felony battery causing serious bodily injury, and Sutter County deputies later located and arrested the 23-year-old around 11 p.m. Sunday while he was walking back to his vehicle, which he left in the area of Highway 99 after fleeing the altercation.

According to a spokesperson for the Yuba City Police Department, officials responded to a call regarding an individual who had “been burned by a hot liquid.” Upon arriving at the scene, they identified a McDonald’s employee with significant burns to his face, neck, hands, shoulder, and upper body area. The victim was transferred to an out-of-area hospital in Sacramento County. The suspected perpetrator was identified as the 23-year-old Yuba City male.

The 23-year-old was booked into Sutter County Jail early on Monday morning.
