The dashboard is part of the county’s effort to increase transparency and equity by making information more accessible to the public. The portal is available at BeHealthySacramento.org.

The tool eliminates the need for traditional public health data reports and fact sheets, which are limited to specific time periods and health categories. Instead, users can filter information by time period, age, sex, location, race and ethnicity. The portal also consolidates data from multiple public health specialties.

Users can explore topics including infectious diseases, maternal and child health, community safety and chronic conditions.

According to county officials, the dashboard’s development was motivated by the county’s efforts to modernize public health data systems and provide up-to-date information on health trends to health care providers, journalists, community organizations and county staff.

Sacramento County Public Health officials plans to continue updating and expanding the portal as more data becomes available, officials said.
