Ørjan Nyland was born in Volda, Norway, and is married to his wife, Tine Nyland. The couple got married in June 2019, and they have two children together, Oliver and Jonah.

Nyland has a brother, Sander Nyland, who works as the assistant manager for Norwegian football club Sarpsborg 08 FF.

Nyland’s father is Jostein Nyland, and he played as a goalkeeper, which led to Ørjan Nyland’s development into a goalkeeper. Nyland currently plays for Sevilla in Spain and has played five games this past La Liga season.
