Board President Heidi Hall and trustee Tiffany Coleman voted against the plan.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Hall said the board and district had explored additional alternatives before concluding that the two scenarios presented Monday were the strongest options.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3>What the new boundaries look like<\/h3>\n<div> <iframe class=\"juxtapose\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.knightlab.com\/libs\/juxtapose\/latest\/embed\/index.html?uid=d7666022-5335-11f1-ba1b-0e6f42328d7d\"> <\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The changes also will shift homes west of Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard and south of Sunset Boulevard into the Woodcreek High boundary.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Most homes west of Fiddyment Road will attend West Park High School under the approved plan.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Attendance boundaries for Antelope and Granite Bay high schools remain unchanged.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The district also adjusted the southern boundary between Woodcreek and Oakmont high schools, excluding the Placer Vineyard community. The change affects the area south of Baseline Road and west of Vineyard Road.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Board members said they favored Scenario B over Scenario A because it preserved the Placer Vineyard area within the Woodcreek High boundary while still meeting the district\u2019s enrollment goals. Trustees said moving that small group of students to Oakmont would have split them from their Silverado Middle School classmates with little measurable benefit.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Franz said Scenario A would likely prompt most affected families to request transfers back to Woodcreek anyway, creating \u201ca lot of headache\u201d for families and staff.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo pull students from their cohort from middle school, we have to have a really good reason, and we don\u2019t \u2014 I can\u2019t justify it in the numbers right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>\u00bb\u00a0Roseville news in your inbox: <\/strong>Get our free Roseville email newsletter <span>here<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Tony Phan, a district spokesperson, said officials worked with feeder districts while developing the new boundaries.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegorelocationnews.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/19\/matsuis-website-says-republican-opponent-has-record-of-serving-the-community-2\/\">Matsui\u2019s website says Republican opponent has \u2018record of serving the community\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cUltimately it\u2019s nearly impossible to \u2018perfectly\u2019 align the RJUHSD boundaries with theirs,\u201d he said. \u201cThe goal is when looking at attendance boundaries is viewing the entire district to ensure enrollment is balanced at all sites.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Assistant Superintendent Joe Landon said the district\u2019s goal was \u201cto achieve these objectives while impacting the smallest number of families in the district.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Trustees acknowledged the effect the changes could have on students and parents.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that these decisions have significant impact on the kids and the families,\u201d said trustee Pete Constant, who ultimately voted in favor of the changes in Scenario B along with Marla Franz and Bill Schuetz.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Constant also said he wanted transfer and grandfathering policies to be clearer so parents could plan ahead, adding, \u201cI really want predictability as we go forward.\u201d Constant said families should be able to look several years ahead and understand whether their children are likely to have transfer opportunities available.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The changes are intended to ease crowding at Roseville and West Park high schools as west Roseville continues to grow.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Without the boundary changes, Roseville High School was projected to reach capacity by the 2029-30 school year, with enrollment nearing 2,000 students. Previous reporting by The Sacramento Bee found enrollment could reach about 2,092 students by 2032-33.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>With the approved adjustments, district officials project Roseville High will still exceed target enrollment levels but remain closer to 1,600 students.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>West Park High School was also projected to reach capacity by 2029-30 with about 3,267 students and exceed capacity by 2031-32 with more than 3,397 students.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Even with the new boundaries, West Park is still expected to exceed capacity by 2031-32. District officials said the issue could be addressed by adding portable classrooms or limiting transfer requests.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Phan said West Park\u2019s attendance boundary was \u201crefined to capture more of the developing west Roseville area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The school board did not vote Monday on policies related to grandfathering, specialized programs or transfer requests.
