The league\u2019s commissioner has said he wants a process for expansion in place by the time he retires, expected in 2029.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty had signalled local leaders\u2019 intentions to formally campaign for an expansion team during his own annual address in October, and has doubled down in the months since, declaring that an effort would launch this spring. The West Sacramento mayor\u2019s comments signalled that that campaign may be imminent.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Guerrero told attendees to \u201cstay tuned for that announcement next week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Guerrero\u2019s remarks came during her annual \u201cState of the City\u201d address, where she hailed West Sacramento\u2019s recent accomplishments.
