Paso Robles doesn\u2019t allow recreational delivery or any retail storefront activity, although these ordinances are currently being revisited.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Ernest Hall\u2019s wife Grace Hall told The Tribune on Tuesday that Fisher became irate on Sunday when Ernest told him repeatedly that he couldn\u2019t sell at his shop due to the city\u2019s restrictions.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then the guy, he\u2019s probably about maybe 5-foot-3 \u2014 he\u2019s a short, stocky little guy,\u201d Grace Hall said, \u201che pushed right up to Ernest\u2019s face and was like, \u2018Come on, come on,\u2019 and then that\u2019s when my kids started videotaping.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Luke Fisher\u2019s wife, Gabi, however, disputed that account, telling The Tribune that it was Ernest Hall who came out of the building aggressively.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The video shows Fisher arguing with Hall, while members of Hall\u2019s family can be heard in the background. In the background is Fisher\u2019s truck, with Gabi Fisher in the driver\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The video begins with Fisher calling Hall a \u201cdumbass\u201d multiple times.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDumbass, come at me with everything you got,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m leaving, fool. I don\u2019t give a f&#8212;, you dumbass,\u201d Hall replies. \u201cI\u2019m leaving, fool. F&#8212; you. Go. Bye. Bye.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Fisher then backs away, waving at Hall and calling him the N-word.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe called you a n&#8212;&#8211;,\u201d a family member says.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t care what he called me,\u201d Hall replies. \u201cThis motherf&#8212;&#8211; ain\u2019t getting shit from me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Fisher then walks back to his truck and says \u201cYou\u2019re a f&#8212;ing dumb n&#8212;&#8211;,\u201d before getting into the passenger seat.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll be a dumb n&#8212;&#8211;,\u201d Hall says. \u201cBye. Bye. Within three days, the video had more than 150,000 views, 800 likes and more than 540 comments.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Luke Fisher filed a report with Paso Robles police, \u201cclaiming to have been hit in the head by the bill of Mr. Hall\u2019s hat during a heated confrontation,\u201d Cmdr. Steve Boyett told The Tribune.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Fisher requested formal charges with the DA\u2019s Office for simple battery, Boyett said.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>In response, the Halls accused Fisher of making a hand gesture that mimicked the cocking of a gun, Grace Hall said.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>They also requested formal charges, saying they \u201cperceived the gesture to be a threat,\u201d according to police.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOther than the statements of both parties, we have zero evidence of either claim,\u201d Boyett said.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<h2>Fresno business owner\u2019s wife responds<\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Fisher\u2019s wife Gabi, who witnessed the confrontation from the truck that day, told The Tribune that she refutes the Halls\u2019 claims that her husband started the fight.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegorelocationnews.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/04\/own-this-entire-private-island-in-sacramento-region-for-39000-2\/\">Own this entire private island in Sacramento region for $39,000<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>She said that she and her husband, being from out of town, were in search for a dispensary and weren\u2019t aware of Paso Robles\u2019 policies around cannabis.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Landing at Dubs Green Garden, she said, her husband was looking for the door when Ernest came out and immediately became aggressive and headbutted her husband.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cLuke was under attack. He did not want to resort to violence, but he said what he said,\u201d Gabi said. \u201cLuke stood his ground. He saw a random person, who did not identify himself, come out of a business. &#8230; He just saw a crazy person coming straight at him, and he was going to stand his ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>But Gabi said her husband did regret the language he used to do it.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is very regretful of those things. That\u2019s certainly not anything that represents who we are or what we\u2019re about or the way that we conduct ourselves in our lives,\u201d she said. \u201cWe aren\u2019t apologizing because we are getting blowback. He genuinely feels bad that those words came out of his mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Since Sunday, Gabi said the Halls had left multiple threatening voicemails on their phone and created online \u201ccampaigns\u201d against the Fishers\u2019 business, so they decided to press charges against Ernest for simple battery.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re sorry we hurt his feelings. We would love to work it out, but based on the advice of the Paso Robles Police Department, we\u2019ve had to block their numbers because of their continued threats of violence to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Eventually, the Fishers\u2019 intend to get a restraining order against the Halls, Gabi said.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<h2>Halls say they\u2019re worried about their safety<\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>In the aftermath, both Ernest and Grace Hall also said they are worried about their family\u2019s safety. Grace said she saw Fisher mimic a shotgun as he drove out of their parking lot that day.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were concerned for our safety when they left,\u201d she said. \u201cPeople don\u2019t understand what\u2019s going on within our family. It\u2019s horrible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The Halls are in the midst of a current legal battle after a complaint was filed by the District Attorney\u2019s Office on May 15 accusing Dubs Green Garden of delivering illegal recreational marijuana in Paso Robles, even though the business has a state license and a city permit that says \u201crec.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The first hearing in that case was on Monday, the day after the altercation outside their business.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The incident was the latest of multiple that have drawn the Halls into the public eye in recent years.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>They were also at the center of the Chris Bausch-Ty Lewis controversy after sharing information with the then city manager about what Lewis said was a conspiracy to drive him out of his job.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just feel like there\u2019s no representation for people like me in this town, and if you try to do something good, they try to find a way to snatch it from you, or not make it easy,\u201d Ernest Hall told The Tribune. \u201cThey don\u2019t make it easy for Black folks or people like myself.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t even express it, like how hard I fought to get to where I\u2019m at, but then nobody sees all the hard work,\u201d he added. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t make any sense &#8230; I\u2019m just kind of scared for my safety.
