It is the dining outdoors season and recently The Bee published a list of some of the top local spots for dining or drinking al fresco in and around Sacramento<\/u>. Restaurants and bars in the area have done their utmost to make their patios, rooftops, and outdoor seating areas fun and comfortable, even during triple-digit heat.<\/p>\n

We focused on spots where outdoor dining is the main attraction, from the courtyard at Lola\u2019s Lounge<\/u> in Land Park and the rooftop at Darling Aviary<\/u>. But it\u2019s a real testament to Sacramento\u2019s love of eating outside that so many readers weighed in with spots that they feel we overlooked.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Michelle Martinez Lodgson said our story was a \u201cnice list of outdoor eating spots in Sacramento. But it\u2019s missing my number one outdoor dining spot in the city, Aioli Bodega Espanola<\/u>.\u201d Aioli\u2019s founder, Reda Bellarbi-Salah, was recently honored with his portrait on the mural of Sacramento\u2019s Legends of Hospitality<\/u>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Hallie Henle, Camden Spit & Larder<\/u> has \u201cwonderful food,\u201d and \u201ca beautiful patio overlooking the (Capitol) Mall.\u201d In fact, the Sacramento Bee made a recent stop<\/u> at Camden Spit and Larder to revisit their California take on British cuisine. (We\u2019re fond of their meat pie<\/u>.) And per local caterer Jennifer Millsap<\/u>, \u201cOaxaca in Oak Park has a nice patio too and the moles are on fire.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

There\u2019s plenty of breezy outdoor dining options outside of Sacramento\u2019s main drag as well. Reader Heather Fargo wrote in with a number of suggestions for dining outdoors in North and South Natomas, such as Bella Bru<\/u>, CharQterie, Helic Bistro<\/u>, Mezcal Grill<\/u>, El Bramido<\/u> and The Virgin Sturgeon<\/u>, which floats on the Sacramento River.<\/p>\n

Sacramento, it turns out, loves drinking beer and other brews outside. We covered a handful of beer gardens in our original story, from traditional (Kathrin\u2019s Biergarten in Rocklin<\/u>) to the eclectic (Garden at the Line<\/u>, with its 71 taps.)<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

But many people weighed in with their favorite beer joints with outdoor spaces. Dan Scott, the co-founder of Capitol Beer Fest<\/u> and the founder of Sacramento Beer Week<\/u>, doesn\u2019t mince any words: In his opinion, \u201comitting Lefty\u2019s Taproom<\/u> on a list of great beer gardens with patios is possibly a criminal offense.\u201d Sorry, Dan! Spare us!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Devin Navelle put in a good word for his favorites, Hop Gardens Taproom<\/u> and SacYard Community Tap House<\/u> (also a favorite after-work hangout for Bee peeps), while Sacramento resident and 2025 Sac Taco Fest<\/u> judge Alison Maciejewski Cortez noted that \u201cTouchstone Brewing<\/u> has big, beautiful patios and an open-air indoor dining room.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Alchemist CDC<\/u> CEO Sam Greenlee offers a vote for yet another beer garden: \u201cSac City Brews<\/u> has a delightful patio for hot summer days with strong shade and a mister system.\u201d Additionally, he recommended the outdoor dining at Masullo<\/u>, La Venadita<\/u>, and Cafe Bernardo<\/u> in midtown. With so many options, there\u2019s no need to eat anywhere within four walls for the rest of the summer.<\/p>\n
