We are writing you with an important update to our network,\u201d one letter read.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Jonna M. Constantine, a senior manager in corporate communications\u200b at Blue Shield, wrote in an email that the issue had been resolved and said the company is \u201cproactively\u201d notifying affected customers.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarlier this month, during routine system updates, Blue Shield of California identified an error that resulted in incorrect letters being sent to some Blue Shield Medicare members in the Sutter Health network,\u201d wrote Constantine. \u201cNo member who received these letters had their coverage impacted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The Oakland-based insurer plans to send apology letters to affected customers.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat letter we sent out is in error due to updating providers\u2019 information in our system,\u201d the customer service representative said. \u201cWe already assured today members who called us that they can still continue to see their providers and they can disregard that letter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Affected customers included residents of Sutter County in addition to those seeing health providers in Sutter County but who did not live in the area, according to the representative.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegorelocationnews.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/20\/us-wins-world-cup-group-d-will-play-first-knockout-game-at-levis-stadium\/\">US wins World Cup Group D, will play first knockout game at Levi\u2019s Stadium<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy doctor\u2019s office knew nothing about it and when I called Blue Shield they said they\u2019ve been inundated,\u201d wrote one customer, who received the letter on Monday, four days after it was postmarked and after the letter claimed their coverage had been terminated.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a mistake and they\u2019re trying to correct thousands of errors and sending out another letter to these frantic customers like me!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Customer service representatives were unable to provide information on which plans were sent the letters.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A second customer service representative, who declined to provide her name, said that the company is working to update their records to display the correct information that providers are \u201cstill remaining in network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>She said she \u201chas definitely received calls from members advising that they haven\u2019t or they\u2019ve received notifications that the providers are no longer going to be with the network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegorelocationnews.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/20\/rancho-cordova-to-host-two-day-fourth-of-july-celebration-heres-what-it-features\/\">Rancho Cordova to host two-day Fourth of July celebration.
