The Folsom Police Department and Folsom Fire Department responded to the fire around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Iron Point and Carpenter Hill roads, according to Folsom’s police log.
An investigation determined that illegal fireworks caused the blaze, according to the log.

The police warned residents that morning about the use of illegal fireworks, saying fines could range up to $5,000 per violation, according to the department’s Facebook post.

Both the police and fire departments had personnel dedicated to the enforcement of illegal fireworks Saturday, according to the Facebook post. Those units were on active patrols and used drones.
The Police Department said it typically sees an increase of calls for service July 4.
