A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the fatal shooting at the Sem Yeto High School graduation ceremony that left one dead and three injured just over a month ago.

The Fairfield Police Department in a social media post Friday morning announced the arrest of a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murder and related offenses arising from the June 3 shooting at the Fairfield High School campus. The shooting, which occurred during Sem Yeto Continuation High School’s graduation ceremony, resulted in the death of 18-year-old Jamario Baker and injured three others.
Officials said the teenager fled California just days after the shooting and traveled to Texas. After an extensive homicide investigation conducted by local, state and federal law enforcement, the U.S. Marshals Service and Fairfield Police Department officers executed search and arrest warrants at a home in the Dallas-Forth Worth area of Texas on Friday morning, where they took the teenager into custody without incident.

He remained in custody and awaiting extradition to Solano County as of Friday afternoon, authorities said. His identity has not been releasd because he is a minor.
