Warriors’ Draymond Green Had Strong Words After Bam Adebayo News

The fallout from the reported phyiscal altercation between former Miami Heat teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro continues to ripple across the NBA. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Adebayo confronted Herro over comments the guard allegedly made about him on social media after Herro was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The incident reportedly occurred at a practice court at a Las Vegas hotel, with both players eventually leaving the scene without further escalation. The altercation quickly became one of the NBA’s biggest talking points, prompting widespread conversations among fans, players and analysts.

One of the latest voices to weigh in was Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green, who discussed the situation on the latest episode of his “The Draymond Green Show” podcast.

Addressing the incident on Sunday, Green revisited one of the defining moments of his own career: the fallout from the infamous practice altercation with Jordan Poole before the 2022-23 season, when video surfaced of him punching the then-young Warriors guard. Former Heat captain Udonis Haslem was critical of Green at the time and the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year questioned whether Haslem would react the same way he did several years ago

“I remember when I got into it with Poole… I remember one person when the Jordan Poole incident happened with me who was really, really outspoken about it and it really bothered me, was Udonis Haslem,” Green said. “I saw Udonis Haslem get into it with guys on teams that was younger than him before. Ala Jimmy Butler. Then he came out like, ‘That’s ridiculous! You get into it with your young guy I would never. I can’t believe you did that… So when I first saw this, I was like damn. This is two young guys Udonis Haslem has raised. If you raised this young guy in the light of what you was saying about me, and now he punches this other young guy, that y’all kind of co-raised, are you going to have that same energy?”

The Warriors incident dramatically altered Golden State’s chemistry and fractured Green’s relationship with Poole. The young guard was ultimately traded to the Washington Wizards the following offseason.

As of Saturday, Adebayo has not publicly commented on the altercation, while Herro declined to discuss the incident when approached by reporters during Summer League. Neither the Heat nor Bucks has issued any further statement beyond acknowledging they are aware of what happened.
