Justin Spiro of “The Spiro Avenue Show” is reporting that Manuel is out, while the school is negotiating the terms of his release.
“BREAKING – Warde Manuel is OUT as Michigan Athletic Director. The university is negotiating terms of his release. An announcement is expected this week,” he reported on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday evening.
News of Manuel’s ousting has yet to be confirmed. However, Yahoo! Sports’ Ross Dellenger is reporting that Manuel is officially under review at the University of Michigan and changes could be coming.

Manuel’s future is officially in doubt on Sunday evening, according to Yahoo! Sports’ college football insider.
“The future of Michigan AD Warde Manuel is in doubt in the wake of a report of an internal investigation around the Sherrone Moore saga, sources tell Yahoo! Sports. A Michigan Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, where officials are expected to further respond to the report,” he reported.

“Manuel signed a five-year extension in 2024 through June 2030 at more than $2 million a year. A buyout provision in his contract requires a severance of 36 months of pay unless the school and Manuel reach a settlement agreement. An announcement could come as soon as this week.”
Michigan is only a couple of years removed from winning the College Football Playoff and the Wolverines are coming off a national championship in men’s basketball, as well.
However, it sounds like due to the Sherrone Moore scandal, Manuel could be out of a job at the University of Michigan on Sunday evening.
An official announcement on the University of Michigan’s athletic department future could be out on Sunday evening.
