Air Jordan 6 ‘Oreo’ Design Details

Black nubuck and white leather overlays make up the upper of the Air Jordan 6 Retro ‘Oreo.’ The speckled midsole resembles an Oreo Blizzard from Dairy Queen, validating the sneaker’s nickname. A visible Air unit, translucent outsole, and Jumpman heel branding complete the fan-favorite design.

Another reason the ‘Oreo’ 6 is so beloved is its wearability. Durable nubuck and tumbled leather give this sports car-inspired silhouette a longer lifespan than your average sneaker. Even today, pairs from the original 2010 release can still be spotted on the streets in surprisingly good condition.

Why Does the Air Jordan 6 ‘Oreo’ Matter?

This release marks the first-ever retro of the Air Jordan 6 ‘Oreo,’ making it one of the rarest non-OG Air Jordan 6 colorways ever released. Jordan Brand gave us the ‘Reverse Oreo’ in 2024, and while it was a nice sneaker, it never came close to matching the original.

In addition to its scarcity, Sneaker Bar Detroit reports that the 2026 retro features an updated shape that leans closer to the original 2010 release. That alone slides the ‘Oreo’ 6 right into collector territory.

Should You Buy Them?

In 1991, Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan 6 with inspiration from Michael Jordan’s love of sports cars. That sleek creation helped carry Jordan to his first NBA championship. The AJ6 ‘Oreo’ takes all of that heritage and wraps it in a beautiful, easy-to-style black-and-white colorway.

The more accurate question is whether you’ll be able to buy them. With 16 years between releases, the ‘Oreo’ 6 will appeal to sneakerheads, collectors, and resellers. These kicks are a must-cop.
