The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office issued a mandatory evacuation order Sunday afternoon for the Pilot Hill Perimeter Zone between Miners Valley Road and Equestrian Way because of the Miners Fire.

The fire had burned about 92 acres with 5% containment as of 3:13 p.m., according to Cal Fire.

Residents in the evacuation area were urged to leave using Salmon Falls Road, traveling either south toward El Dorado Hills or north toward Cool. An evacuation center has been established at the Placerville Library, 345 Fair Lane in Placerville.
