Michael Morquecho, the Sacramento-area director for Shake Shack, said that after seeing excitement for the brand in the region, their team was interested in bringing a location to Elk Grove. The restaurant will be in The Village, a 127,000-square-foot shopping center.

“Elk Grove is just a vibrant and growing community, so it felt like a natural next step as we continue to expand our presence in Sacramento,” Morquecho said.

To celebrate the opening, Shake Shack will be giving away tote bags to the “first wave” of guests, according to a company news release. Additionally, for each sandwich bought and sold at the location, Shake Shack is donating $1 to Elk Grove Food Bank Services.

“We’re really committed to becoming active members of the communities that we serve,” Morquecho said. “So partnering with local events…building relationships in the community, and supporting charitable initiatives, that’s who we are.”

The Elk Grove location will feature exclusive items from the West Coast menu, Morquecho said. These items include Shake Shack’s West Coast burger, served with Angus beef, American cheese, caramelized onions and pickles dipped in honey mustard on a potato bun. The menu also has a chicken sandwich with avocado, lettuce and tomato dressed in sour cream and onion sauce.

The opening of the Elk Grove restaurant will be the 53rd Shake Shack location in the U.S. The three other Sacramento-area restaurants are located:

  • 210 Palladio Parkway in Folsom
  • 1151 Galleria Blvd. in Roseville
  • 1710 R St. in midtown

General manager Oscar Garcia said the Elk Grove location will offer outdoor seating and that it officially opens August 5.

Its hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Fridays and Saturdays it will be open from 10 a.m. to midnight.
