And according to him, there’s a lot more to the King’s move to the Philadelphia 76ers than what most people know.

In a recent episode of “Conversations with Cam,” Wade discussed James joining the star-studded Sixers in free agency, saying that, when it comes to basketball, he felt his longtime friend had made the best decision.
A strategic move by LeBron
Now set to play in his 24th NBA season, James has shown that apart from the physical gifts that have allowed him to last this long in the big leagues and his phenomenal basketball abilities, which he has displayed since high school, what sets him apart from all of the NBA’s greats is his perceptive mind.
Like a supercomputer on the hardwood floor, James’ mind can dissect any play or sequence and react accordingly, almost always leading to the right play. Whether that’s a pinpoint pass to a cutter or an open shooter, or a hard drive to the basket, he can immediately recognize what the moment needs.
And at this point in his career, he believes the right move is to join superstars Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and Tyrese Maxey in the City of Brotherly Love.
“From a basketball standpoint, I thought it was a very strategic move at this point in his career. It definitely gives him the best chance. And I’m sure other teams will probably look at this like, ‘No, we got the best chance,'” Wade
“I know I got a couple text messages, but I feel like it gives him the best chance in the East to be able to get back to compete for a championship.”
Although the 6’9″ forward has shown few signs of regression in his early 40s, there’s no denying how hard Father Time is coming for him. And considering that he’ll turn 42 during the season, Wade’s take that James’ Philly move was the right call is spot on.
Yes, LeBron is still capable of delivering the goods nightly, but with young, spry stars by his side, he no longer has to shoulder as much of the load as he did in his early days.

A homecoming in Miami would have been nice
Miami will always hold a special place in Wade’s heart, as it was the city that embraced him from the jump and helped him become the NBA icon that he is today. He declared that he would have loved to see James once again in the Heat’s jersey, playing alongside two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
However, Wade contended that the Heat’s roster had not yet been finalized when James announced his decision, so he couldn’t blame him for choosing another Eastern Conference team.
“I think Miami would have been a good move as well, but a lot of moving parts in that needed to go right. I feel like this is a little bit more, right away from the beginning, the best chance for basketball,” Wade remarked.
“But also, too, I don’t think we’ve seen the end of what this move is. I think it’s more to this move,” he added. “So, I just leave it at that.”
As mentioned, James is a man who hardly does anything by accident. Every move is carefully measured, and Wade believes that him playing for the Sixers could be just the first chess piece moving in a long game.
Will he expand his business empire and make Philadelphia his headquarters? Will he finish his career with the Sixers and aim for a stake in the team when he’s done? Only time will tell what the King is up to.
