Former Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones has accused the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and USA Bobsled of “completely destroying” her life.

Jones had an exceptional career as a hurdler, winning gold medals at the 2008 and 2010 World Indoor Championships. After competing in the 2008 Summer Olympics, she made the decision to take on bobsledding. Six years later, she was selected to the U.S. bobsled team for the Sochi Winter Games.
Earlier this week, Jones called out USA Bobsled for failing to provide her with competent medical care. According to the Iowa native, she suffered “brutal lower-back pain, numbness, leg instability, foot drop, [and] loss of bladder control” while testing a new sled position in March 2025.
“I was never even given an X-ray or an MRI,” Jones wrote on X. “I wasn’t even allowed to use the ice bath to numb the pain. I did not even know my spine was seriously injured. I just knew I was in pain.”
Jones wasn’t done putting the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and USA Bobsled on blast this week.
“Everyone thinks crashing is the scariest part of bobsled. Try taking on the machine of @usopc and USA Bobsled to demand basic care for an injured athlete instead,” Jones wrote “They stripped my rights, completely destroyed me, and no one was held accountable. Finally, the truth is getting out.”

Lolo Jones claims she could’ve been involved in a diaster.
As mentioned before, Jones dealt with complications from her new racing position for the 2025 World Championships.
Jones claims she could’ve been paralyzed had the pilot crashed either during training or at the actual 2025 World Championships.
“It took me months for me to speak about this. Thank you to everyone for the messages. USOPC and USA Bobsled have a duty of care. I never want an athlete to experience what I did.”
We’ll see if either the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee or USA Bobsled fire back at these claims.
