Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua addressed his off-field issues as he prepares for the 2026 season.

Nacua was sued for alleged assault and battery in March by a woman who claimed he bit her on the shoulder. He was accused of making an antisemitic comment toward the plaintiff shortly after apologizing for making a gesture that “perpetuated harmful stereotypes against Jewish people” on a livestream.
Although Nacua didn’t provide any updates on his legal situation when speaking to reporters on Monday, the 25-year-old reflected on taking responsibility for himself.
“There’s definitely trying to take accountability for the things that I know that I can continue to change and can grow in ways that I know that have helped me feel as best as I can when I step out here on the football field and outside of the football field,” Nacua said.
“There were some intense conversations”
Nacua said he’s “very confident” that he can avoid any more off-field distractions by leaning more on his circle of trust.
“I owe a great thank you to my support system, but especially my family through this time,” Nacua said. “There have been things that have happened this offseason that haven’t been the truest reflection of the person I feel like I am and how my mother raised me. There’s definitely been conversations with her to apologize, but also for her to say that she supports me.”

The two-time Pro Bowler also received some tough love from his brothers, whom he called his “biggest critics.”
“There were some intense conversations, but loving conversations, in order to see improvement,” he added.
Despite facing an ongoing legal situation before a contract year, Nacua said it “never crossed my mind” to skip training camp.
“I think the game of football is a safe place for me, and I enjoy that,” Nacua said. “There have been things outside of my control that I think have impacted the way I’ve been able to kind of focus and enjoy this game of football. But coming out here and seeing that jersey No. 12 hung up in my locker is something that I don’t take for granted.”
